Search for online jobs the right way
Many
companies seeking virtual workers still advertise on traditional/mainstream
job sites. Learning to locate those listings efficiently, and the possibilities
to make money online will increase drastically for you.
To find such positions, I suggest using a job aggregator like SimplyHired.com or Indeed.com to search for keywords such as: telecommute, virtual, "work at home", freelance, etc. Other job categories that often include remote-work opportunities: blogging, writing, online, data entry, transcription, etc.
Also use the search box on Craigslist (all major cities, not just your own) to search those keywords, or do Google search targeting Craigslist like this: "virtual assistant site:craigslist.org"
*Beware of scams, but don't let their presence deter you from checking out the many great opportunities out there.
Additional tip #1 to make money online
If you want to make money online and don't yet know HTML, then NOW is the time to learn. Knowing HTML will enable you to:
- Avoid the high prices and flaws of WYSIWG editors.
- (re)Design your site with better search engine optimization.
- Understand how to add your links to forums/blogs/etc.
- Add/modify affiliate links and tracking codes.
- And much more!
Yes, you can money online without knowing HTML, but HTML is not hard, and it will really expand your possibilities. Truth be told, online self-employment is probably not well suited for people who don't want to learn any new skills.
Here are some resources to get your "education" started:
- YouTube.com "learn html" and "html tutorials"
- About.com's free 10 week HTML course
- W3Schools free HTML tutorial
- HTML.net's combined HTML+CSS tutorial
- HTMLDog.com
There are hundreds of other resources, but these should be more than enough for HTML.
Making money online - additional tip #2
Keep
in mind that the most timely ideas for making money online are probably not
yet being openly discussed. In fact, the very best ways to make money online
may be written about the least. Why? Well, if you were a gold miner and just
made a big discovery, would you go around telling everyone where the gold discovery
was before mining it yourself? Of course not! Anyone who is successfully making
money with an e-business is not going to be sharing their secret recipe on blogs
and forums. People making money online are busy making money -- not telling
others how to copy them!
So this means two things for you:
- "Imagination is greater than knowledge" - Albert Einstein
- "To find ways of making money online, look at how others are making money online" - Me ( I know it's not as profound, but it's practical)
In other words, either use your own creativity and business intuition, or look at what others are doing successfully and copy them. Examine any website that is advertising on the Internet, or any website that charges for any service, product, or premium options. There's your next idea!
